Highlights of the Fourth Focuslight Laser Application Forum

On September 19, 2019, the fourth Focuslight Laser Application Forum (FLAF) was successfully held in the park of Xi'an Focuslight Technologies Inc. Starting from 2015, the FLAF has become an important industry-university-research exchange platform for high-power semiconductor lasers and micro-optics industry in China.

Under the slogan of "Innovation · Cooperation", the fourth FLAF invited more than 300 well-known experts, enterprise representatives and industry media from China, Germany, South Korea, USA as well as the rest of the world to exchange and discuss the technology trend and innovative applications in the laser industry. Over 20 spectacular presentations and seminars were held in the main forum and three subforums – Applications for Automotive and Information Technology, Applications for Healthcare and Applications for Advanced Manufacturing. As a significant event in the field of high-power semiconductor lasers and micro-optical applications, FLAF once again drew the attention of the whole industry.

Dr. Victor Liu, President and CEO of Focuslight, firstly made an opening speech expressing warm welcome and sincere thanks to all the guests present and introduced strategy and roadmap of market, product, technology for Focuslight in his presentation. Mr. Sinclair Vass, VP of WW Product Management, Sales, Marketing & Customer Service of Viavi solutions, Mr. Wenzhi Li, Director of Beijing Anzhen Hospital Cosmetic Surgery Center, Dr. Chung-En Zah, CTO of Focuslight, and Ms. Yonghong Lu, Senior Engineer of National Laser Products Quality Supervising Test Center also delivered presentations on the main forum.

During the company tour, the guests visited the product application show area, exhibition hall, clean room, automotive LiDAR production workshop, and got a comprehensive understanding of the R&D and production capacity of Focuslight. Focuslight prepared a variety of applications of high power semiconductor laser and micro-optics for advanced manufacturing, health, automotive, research and information technology in the product application show, and focused on the Diffuser for 3D sensing and high peak power LiDAR solid laser, which attracted a large number of the guests to stop and visit.

In the sub-forums, the participating experts respectively carried out in-depth discussions in the fields of automotive and information technology, health, and advanced manufacturing. Among them, the sub-forum of applications for automotive and information technology was jointly held by Focuslight and Gasgoo, a well-known media in the automotive industry and gathered representatives of the whole industrial chain of intelligent driving, including OEM, Tier 1, Tier2 and Tier3, academic representatives and industry standard representatives. They shared wonderful views on intelligent driving application scenarios and LiDAR technology routes from different perspectives. In the round table discussion, the experts discussed the "opportunities and challenges of intelligent vehicles empowered by LiDAR", and presented a feast full of ideas.

With the participation and attention of the guests, the fourth FLAF ended successfully and gained unanimous praises of the guests.
